When the term invoice is used, it usually means the recipient owe the sender money. It represents a statement of goods purchased and the amount per item with a total amount. An invoice is usually numbered which is used as reference in correspondence when the seller wants to collect or the buyer wants to pay the money owed.
The invoice has a space for the date, the name and contact information of the seller, the company tax and registration details, the name of the buyer and the date the goods were delivered.
