It is easier and quicker to handle receipts using a cash register
A very busy store or business establishment finds it easier and quicker to handle its receipts by using a cash register. The cash register tapes have duplicates which are kept by the company and modern point-of-sale systems using the cash register method can generate computerized reports.
However, receipts may still be issued in special cases where the name of the customer or business establishment is needed to be written in the document as evidence of purchase. The receipt is especially needed when a customer want to return or exchange goods that were previously purchased.
